The Night No-one Sleeps
Huamantla, a pueblo mágico in the state of Tlaxcala, is famous for its traditional festivity on the 14th August, eve of the Feast Day of Saint Mary, when the residents stay up all night creating "tapetes" or carpets of coloured sand, sawdust and flower petals, ephemeral works of art. At midnight, the procession of Our Lady of Charity makes its way along the 8kms of streets covered with the beautiful designs watched by crowds coming from afar.
