Talavera pottery, mole poblano and tiled mansions
Puebla is a fascinating city to visit with a very well-preserved historic centre and a massive cathedral. Many of the colonial mansions and churches are adorned with painted tiles or azulejos which Puebla is famous for. You can find small workshops and shops selling unique talavera pottery and artists painting in the Barrio del Artista.
Puebla is also well-known for its culinary specialities, chiles en nogada (a patriotic dish) and mole, a thick sauce with scores of ingredients.
