History and color
Tlalpan is a historical town swallowed up by the sprawl of Mexico City. Not on the main tourist trails, its Historic Centre is a fascinating place to wander around. The shady central square is surrounded on four sides by the Town Hall and its murals relating Tlalpan's most important historical events, the colorful Church of San Agustin de las Cuevas, the cafés and restaurants under Los Portales and Casa Frissac and the brick building of the Mercado de la Paz.
