Home to the Cosmovitral
Toluca is the capital city of the Estado de México and just an hour's drive away from Mexico City in the next valley. Although now a very industrial city, the historic centre with its large open squares is full of colonial buildings and museums.
It is famous for the Cosmovitral, once a covered market but turned into a botanical garden with a massive stained glass mural with the theme of "Man and his relationship to the Universe".
